Default Beat Detective, Beat markers to Tempo Ruler?!?

Hi!

I have created a beat map that I created from a recording using rim shots in a drum module.
All of this have been done in a another audio recording application.

This beat map has been bounced to an audio file and it varies in tempo over time and all other audio files plays in sync to this
beat. It is a simple 4/4 [1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | ...] beat map.

I want to import all audio files into PT LE and create a tempo automation in the tempo ruler using this beat map I created.

I fire up beat detective, select the whole file of 123 bars, and start analyzing these 16 note beats. Beat detective finds every beat correctly.

However, when doing the Generate Beat Markers to Tempo Ruler, I get some very strange tempos at a few places in the song. It all starts up perfectly but around bar 82 or something heavy fluctuations in tempo occurs, almost a span of 25-35 bps, and I know the audio file does not fluctuate this much. Also later around 105, 115 and a few other places the same fluctuation occurs.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Any hints very appreciated.

Cheers,
- Joakim W

I guess I had too much faith in the Detective figuring out such a large selection, even though it was pretty straight forward material for it to analyze.

By doing the more tedious tab to transient and selecting 4 bars in a row, generate tempo, selecting next 4 bars, over and over I managed to nail it.

Cheers,
- J
