Quicktime Music Crashes PTF
My System:
G4 733MHz 1.5G RAM 4-70G ATA HD's Tascam US-428 USB Mixer/audio workstation controller OS 9.1 OMS 2.3.8 The Tascam mixer/controller is a midi device that sends midi in via USB to control Pro Tools sliders, mute, etc. It also has 24bit sound and midi I/O. This shows up in my OMS setup as three midi devices. One for the controller and the other two for the midi ports on the device. I use this device as my audio I/O. This device works properly. I can create a midi track in Pro Tools but I can't hear any sound out. In the edit window I can see the volume levels change, but no audio. Sound from audio tracks works fine. So, I turned on Quicktime Music to use as my midi instruments. I can start up Pro Tools but when I open a session or open Pro Tools by double clicking on an already created session it hangs the computer. If I turn off Quicktime Music everything is fine. I've allocated more memory for ProTools and DAE. I've set the CPU usage in ProTools to 85%. In OMS when I test the Quicktime Music midi device I get piano sound out through the Tascam. Any ideas?
