track record enable static

running hd9. every time i turn track record enable on i get massive static, not sure why this has happened because last week i recorded with no problems. feeling very frustrated right now.

First thing to try is trashing Prefs.. see if that fixes it.

usually happens with digital input that has nothing connected or different sample rate or clock reference

i have the same problem sometimes. there are a lot of electrical, radio, and static interference that can cause this problem. i've learned that light dimmers in house rooms, (one's that we control the level of light) play a huge role in picking up static for recording, especially if i'm using a di box or an amp's direct out.

make sure all your cables and wires, any pedals etc. are spaced out. try to minimize any possible electrical or radio frequencies within your room/house, or studio?
