Default Demo Songs / Sessions for PT10

Hi,

I noticed in the PT10 trial download (+ the extended downloaded) there wasn't any demo songs / sessions. I believe PT8 and PT9 came with some demo songs? Is there a way to download some demo sessions? Or, since I don't have PT9, a way to get the demos from PT9?

Thanks!

There is a demo song on the PT10 backup DVD. You can purchase the backup DVD online for $15. The DVD also has the pdf files.

No need to order the backup DVD. The pdfs and the demo session are included with the download version as well. They are in a folder called "Additional Files" located within the downloaded archive.

The huge file size of the installer has to be good for something.

P.S.: The above is definitively true for the bought windows version, but my guess is, it's the same for Mac and the demo as well.

Thanks - I'm seeing a peak of 37% CPU usage on the demo song. Does that sound good / bad / average for an 8-core Mac Pro? 100% of the timeline is cached.

I made some of the AVID suggested optimizations as well - didn't really seem to do all that much. How effective are things like turning off WiFi, Bluetooth, and Spotlight Indexing?

Bump. Any thoughts on the demo track performance?

I tripped out when I loaded up the demo song and the CPU (native) was hovering around 68-72% at idle. I'm running a 2.4 Core Duo with 8GB RAM, Mac OS 10.6.8. I also got a CPU overload error about half way through playing the session. I was concerned.

I created a new session, and created 20 tracks at a time, each time putting ChannleStrip on everyone. I got up to 200 mono tracks, each with ChannelStrip, and the cpu hovered around 80%. For kicks and grins, I added SansAmp to each channel. That brought it to its knees of course.
I started removing tracks and was able to have around 120 tracks, each with ChannelStrip and SansAmp. CPU usage was again around78-80%. I'm happy with that for an "LE" native system. This was with a buffer setting of 1024 since all I do on this rig is mix and master. Start reducing the buffer size, and system performance starts to take a hit naturally.

Those are my findings since having it installed 12 hours ago.

I have a MBP 2.93ghz Core 2 Duo (full specs in my signature) and the PT10 demo session averages around 65-67% CPU utilization. I have CPTK so I can take advantage of the cached timeline and I do not receive any errors during playback. If I disable caching the CPU will move up and down more and I'll get a playback error.

With the PT9 demo session (The Legion) I would average around 35% CPU utilization when running in PT9. I haven't tested The Legion in PT10.

On my home machine win7 64 i3-550 6GB RAM and mbox mini (3g) Command 8. I'm at 30% idle and 35%peak CPU (native), CPU Clip 1-4% and Disk 13% Thats at a 512 buffer. No change on stats at lower buffer sizes. Running nice at 128 now.

For Audrye Sessions-Turn Me Off my buffer was at 512. If I change it to 128 I see an average of 75% but the peak shoots much higher and I will get some pops and clicks happening at periodic intervals. If I set it to 256 the average is 69-70% and the playback is smooth. I attribute this to the timeline caching because without it I get CPU errors even at 512.
