I've just recievec my new Mbox2 (I formerly had a mbox1 installed with protools 6,92) and I've seemede to have followed all manuals regarding deinstallation and reinstalling the new one.
But know I get this:

The application "Pro Tools" could not be launched
because of a shared library error: "8<Pro Tools PPC

IM so much in trouble if i dont get a working system by this afternoon!!!!!!!!!

So please help, help, help, help!!!

I've gotten that error message before too. I've fixed it this way before ... hopefully it's this simple for you. If you've upgraded your PT version, sometimes the shortcut to the old version will still reside in the dock. Delete the PT icon from the dock, go to the applications > Digidesign folder and open PT from the icon there. Then you can put that icon back in the dock.

Did that help?

Have you tried dumping your Pro Tools Prefs?

home\libary\prefrences; dumpe DAE prefs, Pro Tools prefs and Digi Prefs.

Empty bin
Restart

I must say i don't see any C.s updates for P.T 6.8.1 so must be quite stable or Digi are looking at 7.0 being the upgrade to get.

If you haven't already done this.....
you must uninstall PT 6.9.2(specifically). Open the 6.9.2 (not 6.7 or any other version) installer and select uninstall.
Then install 6.8.1
hope this helps
