Error Message: cannot parse audio file
Hi Guys
I get this error message after I double click on a protools session file to open it after I moved the file from it's original hard drive onto a new hard drive. Cant get it to play from the new hard drive. Thanks for any ideas. |

Re: Error Message: cannot parse audio file
Is your new drive formatted to Fat32 by chance?

Re: Error Message: cannot parse audio file
I've solved this issue in the past by trashing preferences/databases. Go on all your drives, delete all the "Digidesign Database" folders. Then go into Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools and delete the Databases folder there. I forget if I had to trash my DAE Prefs folder in Common Files as well, but I don't believe so. Hope this solves it for you!

Hi All
Trashing prefs/databases does not seem to fix this issue, can anyone offer any alternative ideas or solutions? |

Re: Error Message: cannot parse audio file
Hi Guys
I get this error message after I double click on a protools session file to open it after I moved the file from it's original hard drive onto a new hard drive. Sometimes the file will play but the edit/mix windows appear broken up which renders the GUI totally unusable. Thanks for any ideas. |

Re: Error Message: cannot parse audio file
Have you told us what interface and PT version you are running?
If the 7mb cache Hitachi is the new audio drive, it may not be enough in terms of cache. The others appear to be partitions on the system drive, and that won't work properly for you.
