Default This Day In History...

From The Smithsonian Magazine:

On this day, July 14, in 1995, the nascent MP3 format was given its name. The groundbreaking technology changed the music industry forever.

And this article on another audio milestone.

It's two separate things from Smithsonian Magazine. I've edited my post to make that clearer.

….But still can’t find it! Maybe I need to be a paying customer to see the article? Where is it on the link?

There is no article on the MP3. The Smithsonian has a "Today In History" panel on the Newsletter email I get from them each day. Sometimes the text saying what happened has a link to more information, other times it has a link to related information. In this case, no link about the MP3.

If you're interested in the Newsletter, sign up at the bottom right of this page.
