Pro Tools Utilities

Installing the Pro Tools 10 demo and there's an option to install "Pro Tools Utilities" (40.9 MB). The description says "Installs Pro Tools HD test programs and firmware". What is this? Is this option necessary if I'm not installing PT10HD?
