Default S5MC - MC PRO failing

Our MC at the studio is failing to startup.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk HD1375164953.954248.jpg

I have seen this before, and then it was related to a bad PSU. After two hours of testing to power the full studio down/up, hitting reboot multitude of times it did finally boot up... But then it can't see the computers on the network.

This is a quite old MC Pro, I don't have the serial no, but it's from the early series before the internal power distribution was improved. Bought some seven years ago.

So we need a solid long term fix! If that is to replace it then so be it.

It vacation time everywhere in the northern hemisphere so getting quick answers the regular way is hard. That's why I post here to in the hope that someone sees this and can get back to me ASAP.

I had exactly the same message pop up on my 5-MC last year, also an older silver version. I was having all sorts of problems with the MC Pro CPU due to a blown chip which eventually resulted in replacing the SBC. Although not a cheap fix, mine is now working faultlessly.

I hope you get the problem resolved, UK customer support was nothing short of spectacular when I had problems last year.

All sorted now.
CS UK (Mark Rose) and Swedish rep organised a loaner PSU and shipped two new units quite fast. I want to have a spare on shelf.

I wish I knew what caused them to fail...

I'll find a service engineer eventually that can check the failed ones and see if they are fixable/upgradable.

The oldest MCs have a really crappy power distribution design internally, a lot of lost voltage over those internal wires...
