Default RIP Don Lewis…

“Original thinkers“ are few and far in between.

Just as it was Bing Crosby who had the Original Thought
that led to all of the “cheating“ that represents the nexus of music and technology
that we talk about on here day after day;
(including for example, being the inspiration to Les Paul
who then moved the chains further downfield);

it was Don Lewis who inspired Dave Smith and Ikutaro Kakehashi
to take his LEO vision and turn that into MIDI,
which makes modern music production possible.

And also advanced the ball down the field
by helping bring us the 80s, via the DX7
and of course the sound of a generation-
the 808…
