PTHD10.3.10 + OSX 10.8.5 HD driver not loading?

Hi,

I'm planing to put together an old school mixing system.

Mackie D8B digital mixer
Digidesign Accel core + HD Accel cards
Digidesign 96 i/o (four units)
Mac Pro 5.1 (OSX 10.8.5)
Pro Tools HD 10.3.10

I've read OSX 10.8.5 is the latest operating system supporting old Accel cards and Pro Tools 10.3.10.

I've installed all above software, and it seems HD driver never gets loaded.

Pro Tools 10 HD opens and runs fine.

OSX systems preferences shows Accel cards, and reports drivers not installed.

/System/Library/Extensions/DigiDal.kext is version 10.3.10.613

DigiTest doesn't show any cards (I've tried only one card at a time, in any slot etc.)

I'm using (at this point) Apple Mac mini 5,1 (i5 cpu + 8gb ram) + Echo Express III Thunderbolt expansion chassis as a testing purpose because I already had those available, and I don't have MacPro 5,1 available yet.

Mac Mini 5,1 is supported HW for this combination expect it should have i7 cpu installed.

I have not find any information regarding Echo Express III expansion chassis if it's supported of not?

Anyhow, all help and suggestions would be highly appreciated. Is there any log files etc. to check to see what's going on, and why HD driver is not loaded?

Hi, welcome to the community.

Your culprit is most likely the ext.chassis. Wait until you get the MP, all of the above should be spot on.

Yes,

now with Mac Pro 5,1 everything is working really reliable.
