Default Anybody Using Touch Screens?

I'm trying to put togther a PT|HD rig for feature post-production, and LCD touch screens look alot cheaper than a control/mix surface. Has anyone tried this with off-the-shelf touch screens?

Ten years ago the touchscreen was used on the Harrison MPC consoles pictured in this link

It seems like a great idea, but having used touch screens to both select items such as routing,eq and fader level, they get rather sensitive that is you have to touch them a couple of times to operate on occasion. Neat and Futuristic, YES, functional on a daily basis to mix by, NO!
I have also seen the PT rig at DSP with it's touch screen and it too was tempermental.

I operate a Soundtracs desk with touchscreen, and it too has some very small icons. You can just use a pen though, or some sort of pointer. I'm not saying all touch screens will operate this way, but the Soundtracs does.

tron. So, this makes sense to me. I love the idea. Have you found a screen that can do this?

Here's a good review of using the Wacom Cintiq (like a touch screen, but with more accuracy and features).
