Digi 003 replacement knobs (003 knobs suck)

I recently upgraded to the 003 and I like the unit except for the knobs.They feel very cheap and feel like they are going to break off any second.They are way too long.I can see getting a cord caught up in one of em and snapping.Does digi offer any replacement knobs?Shorter like the 002?I've read somewhere that they have different faceplates in different colors but could not find where to get one. Anyone else feel the same about the knobs?

I actually like the look of the long mushroom shaped knobs. You can hang some spare patch cables on them . It's one of the few improvements from the 002R to the 003R . All kidding aside, I found the old 002 knobs available at the digistore. I'm not 100% sure they'll fit so you might want to just get one or a few first to test before buying the whole bunch of them. Generally these knobs are pretty standard sized but you never know. They come in two types (with a line and without). Follow this link to order them. Report back if they fit or not.


*** I just noticed that they are currently out of stock. With the 003R replacing the 002R in the line up I don't know if they'll be making any more of these knobs for long. You might need to go to your local electronics store with you current 003 knob to see if they have some the fit ***

I might go the other way and get the mushroom knobs (not currently available at the digistore) for my 002R.

Was the colored faceplates (a la XBOX 360) a reality or just a joke?

There were colored Faceplates for the 001.

Boy, I sure wish those 002 knobs would fit on the MBox2. The MBox2 knobs are a pain!
