Default Pro Tools keeps moving files

I transferred all my sessions onto an external drive and off the OS drive. Now when I add recorded material to these sessions the new recordings are put on the OLD drive instead of on the external where I want them.

If I turn off the system drive in the workspace to "t" will this stop it?

Do I need to create a COPY of session onto this new drive?

Change the Disk Allocation inside the session to the correct path(s).
