No HD Native option in Playback Engine select

I updated to PT 12.1 and... My HD Native card is not available in the Playback Engine menu.

Here's how I installed 12.1:
First, I used CleanMyMac to uninstall PT11.
Then I Uninstalled the 11 HD Driver using the 11.3.1 HD Driver Installer.
Then I used PT Prefs to trash all prefs (using select all).
Then I installed the 12.1 HD Driver and restarted.
Then I ran the PT 12.1 installer.

I launched a session to find that the HD Native engine is not available in the Playback Engine menu.
I opened the Sound control panel and selected HD Native as the output device.
I opened Audio/MIDI Setup and tried to select HD Native, but the window says "This device has no input or output streams".

I've restarted the Mac, cycled power on the OMNI, all to no avail.

Any suggestions?

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the HD Driver, etc. I have a session in the morning and I'm getting desperate. I remember having a similar issue when I first got the HD Native card and OMNI with Pt 11HD, but don't recall the fix. Anyone?

Try holding down the "N" key at startup of PT and see if the HD Native comes up as a choice and let us know please

Perhaps an obvious question, but just to verify, you do have an HD12 license on your Ilok, right? Not just regular PT12? If not, there is your problem right there.

I did the exact same thing as you (minus this step) on OS X El Capitan the other day and it worked fine.

Apparently the 12.1 subscription does not work with HD Native, because it does not include a 12HD ion authorization. And there is no 12HD subscription available - that I can see. I'm cancelled the subscription and am reinstalling 11HD so I can get back to work.

For the record, I've never had a bad experience with Avid in regard to purchasing, updating, installing, etc. But the last 24 hours have been a nightmare, primarily because the info I need was wither misleading, vague, or nonexistent. And trying to find help on Avid's website is like trying to untie a wet knot.

There's the problem. My 12.1 subscription did not add a 12HD asset to my iLk. And I don't see an HD option for the 12.1 subscription. So far I'm out $165+ in this debacle, and contacting Avid support is like trying to grasp the wind.

Upgrading from PT11HD to HD12 is $599 and is all over this forum so if you missed it i feel for you but in all honesty you would have found it if you looked here. The $199 upgrade is Non HD which doesn't include a HD12 license for that price.

I am not trying to make you feel bad but $199 for a HD upgrade would have been revolutionary

I am sorry to hear this and hopefully next rime you will have a better experience as there are very knowledgeable people here who will help you in a heartbeat
