PC Configuration: Allen´s Tips for Mbox?

hello all

if i buy a PC with a good configuration (like allen´s tips) do you think it will work with mbox? because i think that the audiomedia III is not compatible with athlon processors (and i think that mbox is the audiomedia´s sucessor). do you think digidesign will make mbox compatible with athlons? like the digi 001?

and the USB issues? the digi 001 don´t run well sharing the irq with usb devices. if i buy a a7v266e or a a7m266 i can use it with a mbox?

i know that no one can really know or be sure what digidesign will do, but i got to buy a new machine now and expecting that the digidesign extend the athlon support for mbox also...

mbox is not available (yet) for pc's. It could be possible that the mbox requires a completely different kind of tweaking since it is usb, and not pci....

I think i saw a post somewhere with one very happy owner of an amiii-card running it of an athlon. Do a search.....

mbox is the new blue usb-device from digi, Toolbox is the "new" name for the amiii-card

Yep, it's a USB beastie. Beware the USB beasties until someone shows yu it will work.

That said, I know of no reason why Allen's machien wouldn't be a good place to start.
