Strike 2 Latch not working in PT12

When I draw with the pencil tool in my Instrument track with "notes" selected, I see the pattern. However, only the first crash is heard. Latch and Style are highlighted. But still, the pattern does not play in its entirety.

If I click on any key in the Verse, Intro, Fill, Bridge, Chorus, etc. on the keyboard in the Strike window, the patterns continue to play out correctly.

Sorry if I sound naive. Just recently purchased this new iMac and Strike 2. It's been about two years since I had the original Strike working on my older iMac.

Do I need to set up patches? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re triggering a pre-programmed loop or pattern, you have to draw the note out to the length that you want it to play.

Latch is an automation writing mode. It has nothing to do with MIDI.

I suppose you can use sustain to do it too.

I stretched the note to 4 bars (16 beats) and still no good!

Since it works in Strike when I click a pattern and it performs repeatedly, I suspect the problem is in Pro Tools.

Are you sure you’re drawing on the right note? IIRC, individual hits are found in the upper octaves while loops and patterns are found in the lower octaves.

You may be right. It's working in one of my three sessions I tried now. Once I find out the difference in them, I will post what I came up with.
