Default how to connect midi controller to project mix?

im want to experiment with the virtual instruments in pro tools 7. im purchasing a midi controller (probably the oxygen 8) is there anyway i can hook up that controller to the project mix board? and if not. how can i hook it up to use it. i already have my midi out going into my mpc. would i have to disconnect that?

The Oxygen can plug in USB can't it?
