Pro Tools Firmware Update Issues

Hi All,

I've been doing a ton of research on this issue, and it looks like a lot of people are having firmware update problems. I seen that a lot of peoples firmware stops during the update and their hardware is forever unrecognizable. For me, when I plug in my MBox to the computer, nothing happens. I try to run a firmware update, it says

"Found no Mbox 2 connected"
"Quitting".

I have my mbox plugged into my computer via USB, but no dice. I've also installed the Core audio drivers, but it still says "Unable to connect to Mbox2".

Can anyone suggest something?

It's a long thread, but the last couple of pages finally helped that Mbox 2 user.

Looks like his situation was software based, and mine looks to be more hardware. I called up Pro Tools support and they charge a flat rate of $165 to fix anything hardware related on the device, so I'm probably just going to do that. Gz, $165, I guess it's better then having to buy a brand new one though.
