Default Should I buy???

Basically, this is what I am looking for: (interested in pro tools vocal)

I have the music, I write my own tunes, so do not need the loops and samples. I need a good vocal recorder to add the singing and edit them (ei slight pitch edits, reverbs and effects) to make it sound professional.

I can save my music onto cd and import to windows (generally i use mp3 format) can I import to pro tools essential, then record my vocals then tweak them?

Is there an alternative if I am looking in the wrong place that could be recommended?

Thank you

how many tracks are in your instrumental mix? what program did you use to do the mixes of your tunes? is your system compatible with Protools requirements?

why not tell us in a bit more depth about what you already have and then we will have a better idea of what to advise you mate...

if you are looking for a good pro sound you really need to record your tracks in at least WAV 44.1khz/16bit format, this will give you better control over the dynamics and equalisation of your multitrack mix, you mentioned importing your audio over to a windows system using cds, are you using a different platform for your instrument recordings? then taking it to a windows system to mix down?

sorry, completely missed that you are looking at the Protools Vocal Studio, it looks good and so does the price but the fact that the mic is the also the audio interface puts me off, i got an mbox 2 with Protools 7.4LE for just over £100 from a reputable ebayer seller, yes it is second hand but i was choosey and waited out for the bargain to come along, and it was worth it, for microphone choice i went for the M-Audio Nova at £65, beautiful microphone, again, second hand from a reputable ebay seller, i find microphone choice is important especially for a good vocal sound, and being a skint scottish student i went for the cheapest way to do it at industry standard and get great results, ive never been keen on usb microphones though the mic/audio interface that comes with Protools Vocal Studio might make me eat my words :)
