Amp Farm 3 freezing PTHD8 on boot up plugin scan

I used to own Amp farm 2.4 on my old Mix system and sold the licence when i got PTHD,

Since selling it i kinda missed it a bit so i thought id get a licence off ebay for Amp farm 3.

ive installed the latest version from the digi site that says its for V7/V8 and got the licence on my ilok but when i boot PT and it scans the through plugins it gets to amp farm and just sits there forever and i have to close the process down to get out.
So in a nutshell my PT8 wont boot with Amp Farm installed,

Has anyone had the same problem at all with this?

Im on a PC with an Asus P5WDG2WS-Pro Motherboard
2GB Ram
an intel Q6600 CPU
Win XP SP3 (all digi tweeks done)
HD3 (1core,1Accel,1Process) in an Expansion HD
No CS updates although im currenty downloading CS3 to see if it helps at all.

I know Amp Farm Is no longer supported but i woulda thought it would be ok since its such a bread and butter plugin,

I'm sorry I'm not able to answer your question, but check out ELEVEN TDM----I don't think you'd miss Amp Farm :)

ampfarm works on my pt8 rig,no problems. have you tried trashing prefs? good luck

Hey I no when i installed strike it would do the same thing My problem was IE 8 after I uninstalled internet explorer 8 it would load

Hey thanks everyone for the offers of help, i uninstalled IE8 and its now working great!

fwiw i dont really like eleven all that much (doesnt seem to do metal tones all that well)
although ive only got eleven that comes with HD8 but its not as good as amp farm and Metal amp room by softube (which will be TDM soon) but RTAS is OK for now.

Glad to hear you got it working! May I ask, why would you install a new web-browser on your audio computer? Please tell me you are NOT using that same computer to go online, are you? If you are, just lie to me and say you're not

Yeah i go online with it now and again to sync my ilok etc and keep windows up to date ie8 was in a windows update,
ive been an audio PC user/builder for many years and never had any real problems going online with my workstation to update etc.

either im just lucky not to have problems or just careful what i do when im online

Hey brad thats the way it came from sweewater I only use it to avtivate plugins I never use for surfing that would be a disaster
