Default touchscreen compatibility

Hi,

I would like to know if someone is using a touchscreen monitor with protools like the picture below. will be fantastic...

Yeah, it sure would. I use two monitors and I can never find where I left the cursor. Of course after a few weeks I'm sure it would be covered in beer and peanuts!

I tried a tablet PC with protools once about a year ago and it was kind of clumsy. The response to screen actions seemed to lag. On several occasions I got the hardware buffer error when I tried to do some screen commands. I'm not sure if that was due to the processing overhead needed to handle the touch screen commands or because the tablet only had one hard drive. It would be pointless to use a tablet PC and also have it tethered to a external firewire drive. It would also be tethered to the firewire or USB Digidesign interface which is connected to the monitors, inputs etc. So basically, I'm saying that it is not very practical. It is also very heavy to keep carrying around. I think the Frontier Tranzport solution is much more usable.

There's an article on it at prorec.com. Not ready for Pro Tools just yet, but that's being worked on.
