Red face Will this computer work for SE? Thinking of buying...

I REALLY need a computer that I can work on with Pro Tool SE. I've already bought it and its not working on my current system. That aside, does this one meet the system requirements? It doesn't need to be THIS one, just similarly priced.

Hi Strychnine,

Straight from the Avid website:

Windows MINIMUM requirements:

Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate; Windows XP Home or XP Pro (SP3)
1.8GHz multi-core processor (Intel or AMD)
5400 RPM hard drive
2 GB RAM for Windows 7 64-bit; 1 GB RAM for Windows XP and Windows 7 32-bit
1 available USB port for included hardware
Adobe Flash Player 10 (free at adobe.com)

According to this, you have enough RAM on Windows 7 32bit, however I would strongly recommend going 2GB on 32bit or 4GB on 64bit if you have the choice.

Also the processor in that laptop is below the minimum speed.

I myself use this laptop for Pro Tools SE Recording Studio with Fast Track:

A54HR-SX254V
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Processor
Core i3 2330M 2.20 GHz

Memory
4GB DDR3

Disk Drives
500GB 5400RPM

Even this is slightly slow with loading tracks and processing audio.

Hi Em3xus

Have you got any ideas why my Pro Tools has stopped launching?

(See my original post: http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=322795 - I wish I could call it a 'thread', but so far no one has replied, so it's just a sad, lonesome post...)

Really appreciate any help from anyone!

Thanks!!
