can't audition in region list

I select the region in region list, press option (speaker icon appears) then click on region but no sound and no error message. There is only 1 track in session no plugins, sends, etc. just recorded audio and tried to audition.

Audition path is active I can play the track fine thru those outs (A1-2) and preview volume slider is up in import audio dialog so it should work. Have read relevant areas in reference guide, searched knowledge base and this forum.

Just a thought. Have you clicked on the region long enough? You might have silence at the beginning that you cut off in the track, but the beginning of the region still has it.

What is your audition path set to in IO Setups?

There is very little silence at beginning and audition path is A1-2. If I hit the spacebar it plays.

Figured it out. When I hold down the click long enough it plays. Manual doesn't say you have to press and hold the click down so I figured you'd click once to start and again to stop since the speaker icon stays active after a momentary click. So even when I clicked and waited I didn't hear it. You were right mhmh. Vielen Danke!
