Default PT stops rec after 00:05:01;18 !?!?!

this is bizarre... after recording for 5 min 1 sec and 18 frames PT stops recording, then gives my the -9073 error saying it can't get audio from the drives fast enough. i tried restarting, changing fw ports, powering down and powering up my 002 rack, recording to a different drive, turning off auto backup (which was what i swore it had to be since it was set at 5 min), limiting my recording to 60 min rather than all available space... dang i can't figure this one out! it has done this to me 12 times in a row now! i have PT 7 on my G5 dual 1.8 with 10.4.3, never had i run into this one before. i haven't made any changes to my system recently either, no new plugs, nothing out of the ordinary. anyone have any input on this one???

Save Session Copy In... to a new drive (include copying all audio). What happens when you now run the session off the new drive? (unmount the original drive if possible).

i never did get it to rec pact 5 min last night, still same exact file times. i physically moved the session to another audio drive and reallocated the drive data, but didn't try this. i will try it to another new drive an unmount the orig and see what happens. thanks for the input, rail!

i tried this and it did not work... nuts! i started with a fresh clean session and now everything is fine. i realized the session in question was started with blank tracks that were imported via "import session data" with plugs in place. would this have anything to do with the issue i was having? i can't seem to see where the problem would be, since i never had this happen before using import session data quite frequently. i may just have to call it a freaq occurance and move on... though this is super spooky and would hate for this to happen in the middle of a client-present-recording-session

The only time I've ever had anything like that happen was with a corrupt fade file. Quit Pro Tools, delete the fade file and try loading the session again. Using Save Session Copy In should have fixed any bad fade (or audio file) issues though.. so this is either related to a plug-in or you have a corrupt session. You can try creating a new session and Importing tracks one at a time until you find the culprit track.
