Default M-powered and LE in the same Mac?

Hi,
I was wondering if I could load pro Tools M-powered and LE on the same powerbook and use them at different situations. Like using the 002 at the studio and the M-audio interface at home.
Possible or not?

Ric

Unfortunately this will not work due to the different audio engines used for each version.

Oh, i haven't read the "small print" closely enough. I was really hoping to do the same.

So there's no point in buying the m-powered software/hardware combination if you already have a PT LE set-up?

You mean they won't co- exist on the same computer? Don't you want to generate more sales from current LE users?
if i'm getting this right that is very mean indeed.

given the more generous offerings on the hardware from m-audio, I would imagine Digidesign LE systems may take a big dip in sales in some areas of useage,

Correct - there is no point in purchasing PTMP if you already use an LE system. The two cannot co-exist on the same computer. This is not meant to be 'mean', it is merely an issue with the different audio engines used by the PTLE and PTMP applications. There is no way, currently, to have a 'combined' engine as they both access the hardware in different ways.

Different Audio Engines? So? I can use Logic Audio, Cubase, Live, Reaktor and Pro Tools all on the same computer, all with very different audio engines, all at the same time; but not 2 programs that are very similiar, from the same company on the same computer.

That is correct, sir.

What happens if I install, say, Ozonic m-powered PT onto my powerbook/mbox?
Will i get a warning that i'm about to disable the PTLE/Mbox installation?

While this hasn't been tested, it should work - given that you do not have both interfaces connected to the computer simultaneously.

Even if you have both pieces of hardware and disconnect one in favor of the other? i.e. run mbox/le, then disconnect mbox and connect m-audio and run m-powered?
