Default How do I get Pro Tools LE on my new Mac

I have pro tools le Mbox version 5.2.1
I bought a new Mac and the Install CD won't instal on my new OS X.

I looked around avid for a Pro Tools LE install and only found updates for people who already have it installed so that leaves me out of the loop.

Thanks

If you have the original baby blue MBox, there are no drivers written for the latest version of OSX (10.6.x "Snow Leopard"). Also, the earliest version of Pro Tools compatible with SL is 8.0.3. Meaning, you need a new interface and a new version of Pro Tools.

I do have the Mbox with the baby blue front and off white sides.
Can I still use my Mbox for Garageband ? Pro Tools is nice, but I can't do anything with no Interface from my mics to my computer.

Basically how can I get this Mbox to work?

Thanks for the help on my 1st question

Unfortunately, there's nothing really effective to get it to work. It's not qualified, and there are no drivers written for it.

You need a new interface.

I had the same problem with my Audiomedia III system when I moved from a Beige G3 to a Quicksilver G4.

I only track software synths so the hardware is used to output audio, not record anything external and the only cross-grade they offered at the time was a ridiculously expensive Digi002 rack so I was forced to buy the Mbox2 for £300 and that came with Pro Tools 7.

The overhead of Mac OS X takes a lot of the performance away from a single CPU mac so as a last ditch attempt, I upgraded the RAM from 1Gb to 1.5Gb and got a dual 800Mhz CPU module pulled from the 2001 Quicksilver model.

The interface is snappier but it did nothing for the performance of Pro Tools LE, it's a resource hog and there's no reason I can think of why it needs to be when LE 5 under Mac OS 9 on a far slower Mac was more efficient.

Get the Protools 9 cross grade, upgrade your RAM to as much as you can afford, build an Oxford based Firewire drive and you're away.
