Hi,

The secret is out! looks like SSL (Jim on Gearslutz) had no option but confirm its coming.

well the plugs have been running off the CPU or sharing the load with the CPU since version 3.1 with the card really just taking care of the authing. so its no surprise they dropped the hardware!!

They will be giving free cross grades to all Duende owners and you can install either card or native versions! but once you except the cross-grade the card becomes orphaned and non supported, so you can't sell it on etc (throw away as it will do nothing, so keep it and run some of your plugs on it. for me i will probably keep the reverb on the card and the rest native!)

Anyone who bought the track expansion will also get something back! probably a credit towards a plugin or maybe a plugin of choice! will see.

Personally i think its a big mistake as you know what happens when you go native nuff said about that!

To be honest i got so frustrated with the problems of Duende that i contacted them and offered to beta test, and i'm pleased to say that with the new v3.5.2 i've had no problems or quits for several weeks now

Chris

Thank you M2E for the great news. SSL guys have been around for a long time and understand trends. That's why they are so successful and will continue to be. They gave us the first fully loaded console now this. Very smart and i applaud them. Too bad Uad and the rest haven't smelt the coffee yet or should i say the tea?
