Default Enable Recording

I am tryin to use the Command + spacebar to record instead of having to keep having to reach for my mouse all the time and every time I use that shortcut or F12 the macbooks spotlight menu or calender will come up. Am I using the wrong commands!

Yes, there was a warning about that when you started Protools the first time.

The answer is in the manual.

Hi GH,
I use command + to toggle between the edit and mix windows and command 3 (from the numeric keypad) to start recording, but I'm on an eMac so I don't know if it'd be different for the MacBook.

Go to System Preferences->Spotlight and uncheck "Spotlight menu keyboard shortcut" or change this to a different key combination. It then will not interfere with Pro Tools commmands.
