Default 002 Pre\'s vs Behringer Pre\'s opinions

Hey everybody,

Given the choice between the inputs on the 002r or the behringer ada8000 pre's, which one would you choose? I'm just curious on people's opinions. I just bought a chandler tg-2 and am trying to decide which one to run it into.

thanks...

I have an ADA8000 and 002R and the quality is good on both, i would probably use the ADA8000s though. I haven't heard any difference between the ADA8000 and an octopre, if you want to spend an extra 800 on the octopre to get some db pads and a few other options fine, can make in line DB pads for like 10 each, that's what i do.

002r's handsdown. The ada8000 is a lot of gear for its money, but the quality could be better. Brittle sound. Harsh highs and no true lows. Thats my opinion ofcourse.....

Completely agree with the above. The 002r pres are worlds better than the Behringers.

I'm pretty sure it's illegal in 30+ states to run anything with the name Chandler into anything with the name Behringer.

I would save up and get a real mic pre. You should never let you Mic Pre be the weakest link in your recording chain. Its a guarantee the recording will suffer more then any other way.
