Default Re: HALF SOLVED - Low Latency w/ ProFire 2626

Good news... SORT of...

The way to do this is to switch (in Playback Engine Window) to the Pro Tools Aggregate Driver. Then Low latency shows up as an option as expected.

NOW... can someone figure out why I cannot HEAR the output???

THAT would be killer.

But we are halfway there!

Great. So it works if you trick the Avid software into thinking it's not an Avid interface.

Stay classy Avid.

Well we had to use a similar trick to get a 32 sample buffer size before that was available in the 2626 driver... so, that happens sometimes.

That said, not sure why I can't get the audio out.

Man Friday: can you post a screen shot of your routing screen and mixer in the ProFire 2626 control panel?

thanks!

The video that drumzalicious linked to is probably more help than this, but as I promised, here are the screen shots of my config..

I am not a happy avid customer.

Well this thread is about a lot of different stuff, but as per the main topic, In widows 7 I get LLM using ASIO4All but not for the 2626, But ASIO4All will run the 2626. The option disappears when I switch to the 2626. Also, in widows I do not get a 32 buffer, 64 is the lowest. I do get 32 on a mac though. So I would say that its a driver issue with the 2626 and it's been a while since it was updated.

I could be wrong, I've been doing tons research reading manuals and looking for video tutorials. Do you use the Profire2626 DSP Mixer? It said the low latency monitoring was used in the Aux sends?
Quoted from the M AUDIO website's Profire 2626 description: "ProFire 2626 offers easy FireWire connectivity, extremely low latency"
Is extremely low latency an extremely noticeable difference from 0 latency?
--------------

On a side not, Im trying to connect my PF 2626 to pro tools via ADAT optical, having a lil trouble with it. I have the Out optical(MacPro) to in optical(Profire) and Out optical (profire) connected to in optical(MacPro). Have to profire routed correctly in it's DSP mixer and the outputs in protools. I guess I feel like Im confused about the New PT 9/10 Hardware setup app replace the options in the hardware setup page in PT8. In PT8 defining it was on the hardware setup, by selecting the channels and checking adat box. Now in 9/10, launch hardware setup app is the only button. would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction from here? Ive looked it up a bit on the internet and manuals galore, just can't seem to get audio passing via adat or find an explanation that does it.
Let me know if Im missing any key information that is necessary for a solution, I can do that sometimes..

Please and Thank you,
Jason
