M1 Studio Can't Bounce To Mov more than once

After bouncing out a movs file I get an Avid Video engine error after the second attempt. Then the computer basically seizes up and I have to restart.
I've tried multiple sessions.

Mac Studio M1 Max
64gb Ram
Running one SSD for audio and one SSD for video (Same drives I used on my old setup w/o issue for two years)

PT 2022.4
Mac OS Monterey 12.3.1

Seems to work fine if I bounce out to the desktop.
Any Ideas?

If you are bouncing to h.264 this is a known issue on M1 Macs.

After the first bounce finishes, do NOT do anything but this in Pro Tools.

1. Immediately after bounce go to Setup and disable the video engine (uncheck the box)
2. Close the Playback Engine window
3. Go back to setup and re-enable the Video engine
4. Close the window and wait for it to initialize

Now you can go back to working without needing to restart.

You can bounce to h.265 with no issue or SAS if using a different codec.

This is not reproducing on my end, I bounce out H264 MOV files all day long with no interrupts or issues. Mac Studio Ultra, 12.3, PT 2022.5

What? unfair LOL. I have no idea what is going on. I feel like it was working fine for a week or so and then boom. Now I have to do the Video Engine deactivate reactivate trick before even clicking the mouse button or beachball.

I've tried different drives, different sessions, trashing prefs....

You are better off using the free Shutter Express app to replace audio on your Quicktime files. Faster too.

I have FF-Works and used it during the Catalina kerfuffle. It's easy enough but just another step and another chance for error when in a hurry.

How does Shutter Express compare to FF Works?

FF Woks and Shutter Encoder both work using the FF MPEG open source foundation just adding in a graphical user interface and options.

I confirm this same behaviour (i.e. needing to go through the same steps that its2loud detailed) on PT2022.4 running on an M1 Max MacBook Pro (32GB) under 12.0.1. I thought it might be a Monterey version thing (I'm in the middle of a gig so don't want to update yet) but I guess it's still a thing on 12.3.
