Plugin selection menu changes (cannot search for plugins)

Been having this issue and since it's hard for me to describe, I wasn't able to search for it either from earlier threads.

The plugin menu randomly changes it's behaviour, when it's "dark" (picture attached), it works just fine, but when it's "light", it doesn't allow to search for plugins or IO routings.

I'm actually pretty sure it's more to do with Mac OS than Pro Tools, but for the life of me cannot figure out how to solve it.

Broad specs:
PT 2021.7
Mac OS Big Sur
Mac Mini 2018

I just want to report the same issue, I haven't figured out the cause either.


PT 2021.10 (but it has been happening on my previous install as well, which I believe was 2021.3.1)
MacOS 10.14.6
MacBook Pro 15" mid-2014

Going to disagree on that, I would much more expect this is a Pro Tools bug.

Have folks who see this customized any of the UI colors or other things?

I would try trashing prefs.

In a quick test I can't reproduce it on my system running a more recent 15" MBP with 2021.10 on Big Sur.

Are you using Soundflow? If so, this is a well documented issue over on the Soundflow forum caused by the way Soundflow interacts with Pro Tools via Accessibility mode.

Keyboard Maestro also can trigger this behaviour. In particular I've noticed it when using KM to call Audiosuite plug-ins and render to the timeline.
