I remember asking for that feature some 15 years ago. Every time it comes up someone says "but it needs to be standard everywhere" like there's no such thing as saved preference settings.

Exactly right. All so that engineers can move from studio to studio and have their workflows intact. While the vast majority of us never do anything outside our own studios. And like an engineer coming into a new facility can't click a PREF that says "Enable Default Key Commands."
