Which sampler/sample player?

Hey.

Which sampler/sample player are you using with EastWestQuantumLeap libraries? The custom Kompakt sample player included with for instance Symphonic Orchestra, or Kontakt, or....

Of course, stability/compatibility is important.

I'm just using KOMPAKT until PLAY comes along. Well, INTAKT, also for Stormdrum... Those work just fine for me!!

I have EWQLSO Platinum Pro XP, EWQLSC, Stormdrum, Ra, and I recently ordered Gypsy, Ministry of Rock, Voices of Passion and Stormdrum 2, so I guess you could say I am an avid user of EW stuff, lol...

I had some crashes where the crash log indicated EWQLSO Gold Pro XP (custom Kompakt sample player) being the culprit, so I've started working with Kontakt 2.2. Pulled Kompakt fomr the plugins folder.

Which version of Pro Tools are you running?

7.3 on an HD3 Accel. Haven't had any problems yet. PLAY looks like it's going to be a better option for all of our EW stuff once it becomes available. Are you on the EW forum??

Play is EW's new sampler, specifically for the EW libraries. Here's a link...

Looks cool. I have to keep an eye open for that one. Play network seems like a great solution.

You could also wait for Structure and see what the quality is.

It's from Digi so bound to be utterly optimized and probably very easy to use.

Actually, for the software we are talking about, Structure won't be able to access the monolithic encrypted library files, so it's either KOMPAKT, KONTAKT or upgrade to Play.

Play definitely will make things better for us, as it will be specific to each EW intstrument and it's articulations. I am planning on upgrading all my older EWQL stuff to Play, and the new stuff comes with it. In another month or so, they should start shipping it out and then we will know for sure.
