Default B.L.U.E. Microphone opinions

Has anyone used the BLUE microphones? Especially the bottle mic? I am wondering what this mic is like for vocals.

I am still waiting for my Bottle mic with B6 and B7 capsules. Will communicate my opinions soon on it.

Krubb,
How did you come to decide on that mic?

Haven't used the bottle: a little out of my price range, but I did buy the Dragonfly for the last facility I worked at.

I was pretty impressed. Mainly used as a vocal mic, but from time to time I miked up the amp to give it a go. Pretty darn good for the money. Agencies loved it too, 'cause of the bizarre shape. Jeez they're deep, those people

Cheers

Rick

As, yet I haven't received it. Its on order for a tryout but if I like it I'll buy it rightaway.
I based my choice on construction quality, design philosophy, choice of capsules and expert's opinions.
If you listen to Fiona Apple's latest disc called When the pawn...
The tracked named Get Gone is tracked with a Bottle mic and all the other tracks are made with a nice telefunken ELA M251 which now retails for 17K. The Bottle sounds easily as good as the other mic. I thought it might be worth a trial and if its worth it, I'll get it.
Skipper Wise of BLUE told me that among the new buyers for a Bottle mic are Beck, Don Henley and Pearl Jam. Might be good.
I,ll post results soon.
Krubb
