Preroll time just keeps changing randomly

I am editing SFX quite regularly and I usually keep my preroll time at 1 second so I can easily just cut clips/drop fades and hit play and listen without having to manually roll back, etc.

For some reason lately, my preroll time just randomly keeps changing. I set it at 1 second, edit for a while, then it's different. It doesn't seem to be changing to the same value either. Sometimes its 2 frames, sometimes 16 frames, sometimes 4 seconds...

Any idea why my preroll time keeps changing? I seriously change it back to 1 second like 30 times a day...

Option/Alt+click with Selector before the playback cursor sets a new pre-roll value. Could that be happening?

I was unaware of that command. It's very possible, as I do use opt+grabber (I'm on a mac and using the smart tool, btw) quite regularly.

There wouldn't happen to be a way to disable that, would there?
