Clips disappear when moved by hand
I'm running PT 2018.3 on a PC with Windows 10 Pro. I've been having a weird issue. If I grab a clip with the grabber tool and drag it somewhere else, could be to another track, or to another playlist of the same track, when I let go, I see a highlighted section that is the length of the clip in the new location I tried to drag it to, but the clip itself is gone. This also happens if I select a clip in spot mode and then try to get the clip to snap to its original location. Once I click "ok" on the spot mode menu, I see a highlighted section in the new location where the clip should be, but the clip itself is gone. The workaround I've found has been to select the clip, copy it, and then paste it to the new location. But this doesn't work for spot mode, and it's a more tedious workaround that requires more steps than just dragging. If I close PT and open it again, the problem usually goes away, but sometimes it comes back again after a little while. Is anyone else having this bug? Has anyone found a fix?

Re: Clips disappear when moved by hand
I'm having this problem repeatedly. I drag a clip and it just disappears. The only workaround I've found is to repeatedly cut and paste the clip I want to move until it is in the right spot, but this is very slow and inexact. I swear I used to be able to drag clips around without them disappearing.

Re: Clips disappear when moved by hand
Neither spot mode nor auto spot are turned on. It happens very sporadically. I can be moving around clips by hand, and move 10 clips successfully, and then suddenly it just stops working.
Today the scenario is this: I have some tambo hits, and I'm alt-dragging them (copying the clip and dragging it to the desired location) to match the snare. I've been going along fine, I've alt-dragged the clip 7 times, and then suddenly, I go to alt-drag it to the next location, and it disappears. The original is still there, but the new one disappears. This also happens with just normal dragging, not necessarily alt-dragging. Really seems like a bug, I can't find any pattern to the behavior. |
