ProTools 10 + plugin clip view problem

Sorry if this has been answered before, I have tried searching and using google with no luck (and I am new to this forum so not sure if this is the correct place to post)

When using the PT9 HD set up at uni, if a plugin's output clips (for example the output on an eq clips) it turns the insert on the mixer red - and I cant figure out how to enable this in PT 10 (not HD) on OSX 10.6.

In the reference manual it says to go to > preferences > Display > Select clip mode

In my preferences under the metres section within display, the clip indication is set to infinite but still no red insert within the mixer even when I purposely drive the output into clipping within a plug in.

Any ideas how I get this to display?
