For Rewire you need to go to 6.1.

I also have an 001 and wanted to use Rewire, so went up to PT 6.2.2 and OSX 10.3.1 and it works fine.

I also run the 001 with PT 6.2.2 with OS 10.3.2

Works fine for me! Rewire compatible!

Did you guys step up to panther from Jagquar? If so, is it better or worse? Still sitting on the fence.

I upgraded from 9.2.

If you have not yet used Reason/Rewire, jump of the fence and upgrade.

I have almost the same setup and I'm on the fence too. Jaguar has been stable for me, but the interface is very sluggish. I've heard that Panther's interface responsiveness is a big improvement and that it is very stable too, but I'm getting mixed signals about plug & track count. OS9 to X is definitely a drop, but is Jaguar --> Panther another drop in PT cpu performance?

I had upgraded from Jaguar to Panther when I still had my 001 and it definitely got rid of the sluggish issues. I had never tested my track count cause it was pretty pointless since I was planning on upgrading my processor-- but at 400MHz the switch to Panther actually made PT6 more usable (though still painful until I upgraded the porcessor)-- before that (with Jaguar) I had almost given up on it and went back to 9.

I also crashed out of PT and received fewer errors (if any) than any previous PT6 version (using 6.2.2). Your mileage may vary. I've heard people say that they get a couple fewer tracks-- not sure if there's any difference from Jag to Panther, but from PT5 to 6 there definitely was a decrease. Personally, for me, the added creativity and experimentation that PT6 allows is worth a few tracks. At least until I can save up enough $$$ for the third rev G5/6's in a year or so.

That is encouraging, I get some 9093 error's with Jag that are a drag.
