the "E" key problem is all because Zoom Toggle is broken, and has been for a decade. it's been reported every major release, and they've done nothing.
a demonstration of how it used to work is here:
https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=419787

the last time it worked properly was Pro Tools 10

But in those cases, just hit Zoom toggle again and it will zoom you into the selection you just made.

It sounds like I might be one of the few people who love Zoom Toggle even at it’s default state.
Yeah I know what the idea is and how it's *supposed* to work and often it does work but at least the same amount of times it does not switch back properly. Often it jumps 50 tracks up to the top and right of time line while I was working 100 tracks further down. It's like waking up in the park and you have no idea where you are until you scroll around and find the position you were actually working on while E was on.
Glad it's perfect for you. It's the first thing I'll turn off once I'm on 22.4.

Yes, this drives me mad all day every day, but I'm hooked on automatically enlarging the selected track, so it's just another one of those quirks that we deal with.

Yes it used to work logically and they can't seem to figure out why it changed or how to fix it.

Does anyone know why it was necessary to do a firmware update on the hdx cards? There is very little difference between ultimate 2021.12 and 2022.4 and certainly nothing that significant hardware related. Just curious.

Thanks,

Ej

My problem is the Universe view. Everything in it has disappeared EXCEPT the yellow marker dots. No tracks, no navigation area, no jumping to those marker dots. NOTHING in the Universe view is functional for me. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have no real knowledge but my guess would be something to do with the DigiLink license that is no longer needed for the HDX hardware.
