So what are we MISSING by by paying the same ($399)? How much more do we have to pay to get what we are missing?

Tested and reversed back to 2021.12 performance is simply not acceptable on MacOs Catalina 10.15.7 Intel. CPU glitches and stops the sessions previously running smoothly on 2021.12 Ultimate. New features that have been added do not justify such a big increase in CPU demand.

You can change that behaviour in settings. I use "E" all the time. But it sucks on the standard setting for sure.

Yeah, tried that. You can't change the settings so it doesn't do anything and I haven't found a setting that fits my needs. Glad you can now deactivate it entirely.

Not sure what your needs are, but you can change it so actually nothing happens. Zoom level stays the same, only the track size changes.

Yes so something DOES change. My main gripe is depending on circumstances that I don't know how to trigger, disengaging the E mode make the timeline jump to a random zooom level and move the area you worked on out of sight. Massive PITA for me. No idea how to turn that off. I would use E more if that didn't happen randomly.

Haha! I was first disappointed that we could now tweak keyboard shortcuts because I was like…”Well, now I’ll never be able to use other peoples Pro Tools set ups”. I used to teach at a school where we were using another DAW that was highly customizable and my version at home was different from the schools which was different from everyone else’s. There was so much allowed customization that I couldn’t even use the one at school. But I am actually happy with how they have set-up the presets. So I can always quickly change the Pro Tools computer to its default and choose to stick with the default as much as possible at home.

But then it hit me… I can finally get rid of “N”! I too hit N accidentally when going for the space bar like 20 times a day. I blacklisted that one immediately and it has been heaven the last two days.

What would be cool is if Avid had a way we could save our preferences/hot keys to the cloud. Then when we use someone else’s computer, we could “log-in” and it would upload our preferences. Kind of like what Google Chrome does.

The idea of Zoom Toggle is you turn it on to zoom into your selection. When you turn it off, it puts you back to where you were. So if you are only pressing it once and then not turning it off until later, then it might seem like it randomly jumps somewhere else. But in those cases, just hit Zoom toggle again and it will zoom you into the selection you just made.

It sounds like I might be one of the few people who love Zoom Toggle even at it’s default state.

You may want to re-enable it soon. I have finally had it's horizontal behaviour logged as a bug. Should be way more useful if they implement a fix.
