Lock clips to SMPTE position?
In Logic there is an option called "Lock SMPTE position", so that the region/s locked maintain their position in respect to the SMPTE if I make some tempo changes earlier of them.
I can't find a similar function in PT. Can someone tell me what I have to do? Thank you

Re: Lock clips to SMPTE position?
Two things: Lock the clip(s): cmd-L. Also, a clip won't move with tempo changes if the track is in Samples mode (vs Ticks mode).

Re: Lock clips to SMPTE position?
Maybe I didn't explain me well. Cmd-L simply lock the clip but it doesn't position it on the same Timecode. I mean, if I put in some tempo changes the clip is moved in respect to the time code. And it's not what I mean. I need that the the clip maintains its position to the timecode.
As you can see by my video, if the second clip is locked or unlocked it is anyway moved to another timecode after the tempo change https://www.dropbox.com/s/mpew1ice7d...ecode.mp4?dl=0

Re: Lock clips to SMPTE position?
Your midi tracks are in Ticks mode, change to Sample-based and they won't move with tempo.

Re: Lock clips to SMPTE position?
Rich is correct as long as you don't change your session's timecode start time. There is no feature in PT to lock something to a particular timecode position as such. But if timecode doesn't change with respect to the number of samples from session start, locking a clip on a sample-based track will lock it to timecode as a logical consequence.
Also, if a clip does get moved, you can use Spot to return it to its original timecode position. Never tried it with MIDI, but it works for audio that was recorded or created at a particular location.

Re: Lock clips to SMPTE position?
Yeah. I see! I haven't to lock it with a command like in Logic. It simply remain anchored to timecode if it is Samples-based. And it works also with Midi.
Thank you Rich and Daeron!
