pops during playback

i upgraded our computer to try to get away from this but the problem is still there. now i am back to 8.0 hd.
After recording during the playback on the recorded their are pops and clicks steady threw the recording. you don't hear it while your recording but as soon as you stop you can watch the pops appear on the recorded wave. if i turn the playback buffer up all the way it almost goes away the next time i record . whats going on? does this have something to do the -6031 error that i am still getting?

The 6031 error has been solved on most rigs by switching video drivers to the windows driver.

on my machine i had to go to an ati vid card from nvidea

no more 6031's for me close to a month

I Have got a similar problem. When I record a track everythig is all right, but when I modify something, move track, anything, ... new track have some pops and clicks during playback.
Sometimes It happes, sometimes not. Just restarting machine (HP xw8200) can cure it, but not always. I have no error massages, like 6031. Only the sound is broken.
What could cause such a disturbance?
Is the reason for this behavior can be using in the system Adaptec RAID AAR-14030S with two 1TB drives configured MIRROR?

There's an option in the PT preferences to suppress error warnings. Using this option can actually cause pops and clicks in audio. Do you perhaps have that option checked? If so, try unchecking it and see what happens.

I'm not saying this will fix the pops and clicks. In fact it might even make PT throw and error instead, but it might get you closer to finding out what's wrong.
