Default Is it ok to put a pcie firewire card into a pci slot?
Subject says it all...

My computer came loaded with an nec chipset firewire card which is pcie and it is running in a pci slot currently...

I am about to install the siig texas instrument chipset card which is also pcie ... but noticed that the person who built the computer put a pcie card into a pci slot...

is there anything i should be worried about with this configuration ?

NO! as far as I know there is zero compatbiliy between the slot types.

You can't put a pci-e card in a pci slot. If it's in there and it's working, then it is a pci-e slot. Perhaps you are confusing 1x, 4x and 16x pci-e slots?
