Gain-staging: guitar >Radial J48>Mbox2 Pro>PTLE>Amplitube 2
What am doing wrong? This is crazy! I can't get a decent signal from the following chain: guitar > Radial J48 > Mbox2 Pro > PTLE > Amplitube 2.
It's either too quiet to hear over the drums, or clipping....???? I am puzzled. Are the mbox2 Pro pres that weak, that they can't handle any real signal? |

Re: Gain-staging: guitar >Radial J48>Mbox2 Pro>PTLE>Amplitub
Somehow, I think this is a matter of operator inexperience rather than gear deficiency.
Have you tried using the pad on your DI, then opening up the mBox preamp to the point that you don't clip? Have you pulled the drum faders down, or pushed the guitar fader up? inserted a compressor/limiter/both or EQ on the guitar channel? |
