Default Track Preset Issue / Midi Single Note View

Hey there! I just watched Eric Kuehnl's video on creating a drum matrix for grid programming in Pro Tools. It's pretty great. https://youtu.be/x3bnbzpKUvI

Pro Tools Expert's Julian Rodgers also did a similar video on it last year called Get 808 Style Drum Programming In Pro Tools - Free Tutorial

I spent part of my morning creating a session with Boom and splitting out each instrument note from a midi track into individual (note) midi tracks.... named them and threw all of them into a folder track. It's very slick.

The kicker is you only want to build it once and then import it into your future sessions when you need to write new drum patterns. So I saved the folder which contained the Boom instrument track along with all 10 single note midi tracks for each drum as a Track Preset. When doing so I also checked the box for "Include All Member Tracks". No matter what I do though, when I import that track preset into a session, all of the midi tracks show up in standard keyboard view. Which means the note information is lost. You would have to go into each midi track, reselect "single note" view and navigate back to the octave and precise note for each drum.

Is this a bug? From watching both of those videos I would think it is. Both Eric and Julian wouldn't have spent time making these videos if this issue with Track Presets was happening for them.

I did this testing on my MBP 2016 OSX Catalina

Here's a work around I just got from Eric Keuhnl.

If you import the folder track into your new session or add it to a template that you start from everything shows up correctly.

very cool.
