I sincerely hope Waves good luck on the path they have chosen. Myself, I am not giving them any thought. I am using the Mercury on my TDM rigs so long as they work, but then there is no Waves in my world.

I avoid subscriptions!!!

If my current Waves perpetuals ever STOP working (for whatever reason), I will replace Waves with other plugs.

^^did that alrerady. There are only some very few occasions, very fast in nature, when I would momentarily miss L3LL and/or C6, but other than that Waves is out of my world already.

With that said, I still have mercury v7 on iLok to me used with TDM systems. Once TDM dies on my hands, I have absolutely no need for Waves.

I own all the Waves plugins.
WUP was $240 a year.
This new subscription is $250 a year- so no big deal really.

If you own a couple of plugins then, yes that will be irritating, but anyone who was all in is in much the same situation.

My main issue the 2nd license thing.
I hope there is some way to have a second license without having to buy a second subscription.

No, you don't. You have licensed and Waves has kept on changing the rules.

But I thought according to their email, we get to get what we have?

"Important: As an owner of Waves Mercury, we want to assure you that the plugins you already own remain yours as before."

Anyways, That's too bad, been using them since the late 90's and own almost EVERYTHING, it was a good 25+ year run though.
Guess I'll see who's taking their spot at NAMM to move on with a non subscription.

Yes you own a license to use what you had yesterday. No updates, no upgrades available. Once the old versions stop working you are done with them.

Yeah... NOT Happy. I really like Clarity Vx/Pro... and have used various Waves plugins for years... but I CAN ... and WILL work around them. I cannot see paying them a $250./year "Convenience fee." Will continue using what I have until it stops working, and then.... goodbye.

It also irritates me that NO warning was given to their loyal userbase. Again, NOT cool.

25*12=300 which means forced WUP for any user. Use one plugin or all of them, you now pay full WUP every month. No thanks.
