Default Endless beachballs with 2022.7
Trashed prefs and workspaces and installed 2022.7 twice. Mac Studio M1 Ultra macOS 12.4 and Metric Halo interface. Worked well with Dolby Audio Bridge as playback engine, but completely freezes up with endless beachballs with Metric Halo as playback engine. Rolling back to 2022.6.

Anyone else seeing this? Or is 2022.7 working well for you?

Are you running picture? One of my colleagues suspects the AVE in this release is the culprit.

Hi Nathaniel,

I'm running 2022.7 on an M1 Ultra, MTRX, to picture. I haven't seen that behavior. I've had a few scattered ave issues however, nothing show stopping.

for me the same experience, same computer, OS, Pro Tools.

Tried different video engines, didn't help. Updated BM design drivers, didn't help.

SOLUTION: completely un-installed BM driver, everything is flying again but without external video playback.
Dolby Audio Bridge is also working great, but didn't use video, only music projects.

Happening here too. Studio Ultra, Monterey 12.5, 2022.7, HD Native Thunderbolt. No video here though, just music. Seems to happen mostly when saving.
