Default Is $3700 for a NOS Control 24 with 5 sets of DB25 Digi Snakes a good deal?

Hello,
Is $3700 for a NOS ie. "New Old Stock" Control 24 with 5 sets of DB25 Digi Snakes a good deal? I'm in the market for a control surface and I passed on a large ProControl rig because of some financial issues and most of all its future software support.

The Control 24 will come with the new manufacture's warranty also. I've verified it with Digi also!

Let me know what you think!

No question, the C24 is a better product over the Control24----however, that price on a Control24 is a great deal and I'd jump all over it!

Hi,

That's a good price but you should ask them if the power supply has been replaced and find out how old it is. The earlier ones were not as reliable as the newer ones where then finally fixed the power supply. This was an issue for quite some time. Sounds good though. Good luck.

Here's some interesting information from an email that I just received from Digi's tech support about the Control 24's future support below:

"Hi,

I got some information from the repair supervisor. It would help me be more specific if you could provide the serial number of the Control|24.

I have to say, I am honestly suprised that any dealer has new stock on the Control|24.

- for a new purchase of a previously unsold Control|24, we can provide the latest power supply if needed, however, the chances of needing this are slim.
- also, a new purchase of a prevously unsold Control|24 comes with a 1 year hardware warranty.
- we cannot provide replacement cosmetic parts for the Control|24.
- we expect to be able to provide support to maintian functionality for the Control|24 for the next 3 years at least, but be aware that this is only an estimate based on the current rate of failures."

Hey Fullsound,
Why do you think it's not a good deal?

Well considering you will spend down time and money replacing the PSU a few times, The bad monitor section, The unusable pre amps then it seems it may be cheaper to just grab a C/24. Cables are details and are a dime a dozen and should not influence the controller purchase. Just my thoughts.

As well I have seen a couple Control24's here in Seattle go for like 2000.00 in mint condition and they sat on them for some time before they sold..

I picked my new c/24 up for 6200.00 and have seen them as low as 5800.00 used so if you can scrape it together that may be the better path in the end.

GRAB IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may have been inside of mine more in a 3 month period than others over the life of their ownership, BUT.......

Once I sent mine to Digi for repair, and had the DC Wiring Harness upgraded to the new style with better terminals, and got it the once over, it was fine!!!!!!!!!!

The big issue with those things was the DC Harness.

The latest ones had this harness to begin with. Check with Digi to see if your serial number has it.

If not, I'd say ask them about having it done ASAP, as it will avoid all the issues.

They are good machines with a bad wrap cause poeple never took the time to figure out what the real problem was, or have it resolved.

Being youd be under warranty, I say it's a no brainer!

Great machine! AWESOME PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
